Science, Mathematics and Technology

What is the Queensland Academy for Science, Mathematics and Technology?

In January 2007, the Queensland Academy for Science, Mathematics and Technology (QASMT) opened with more than 200 of Queensland's most talented students.

Along with the Queensland Academy for Creative Industries at Kelvin Grove and the Queensland Academy for Health Sciences on the Gold Coast, QASMT is a state school for high performing students in Years 10 to 12.

Working in partnership with The University of Queensland (UQ), QASMT offers an enriched program to enhance the development of students who have an interest and ability in the related fields of science, mathematics and technology.

QASMT aims to develop students’ abilities to research, investigate and reflect on local and global matters.

Students who graduate from QASMT will be well placed to take on careers in new science fields such as biotechnology and nanotechnology that already contribute millions of dollars in revenue to Queensland's economy.

Open Day was on Saturday June 4 from 10.00am until 2.00pm
