Congratulations to our finalists in the QUT BlueShift Business Competition- Liam Edwards-Playne, Ben McDonald, Brandon Janson, Christopher Day, Victor Lim and Peter Limerick. Below is an article written by Liam on the competition:
A year back I was searching out opportunities to continue my passion for business after finishing Anticipated Business and I stumbled upon the BlueShift competition. BlueShift is a competition for high school students run by the QUT Business School that has students conceive solutions to a broad problem of a business, as outlined in a given real-life case study. I was particularly interested by the fact that the case study is on a real business, as this enables us to apply our theoretical knowledge of business in a real world context and receive feedback from professionals; something we don’t often have the opportunity to do at school.
So last term Ben McDonald, Brandon Janson, Christopher Day, Victor Lim, Peter Limerick and I formed a team to tackle CareSuper’s problem of getting young people interested in investing in super. To our great surprise, we were told we made it into the finals. Next stop is the finals, where we get another case study a week beforehand and present our solutions in person on the day in front of a panel of QUT staff and business professionals.
