QASMT welcomed over 400 new students to our campus today. Whilst we know that the first day at a new school can feel daunting for students, we were thrilled to find out how many of this new cohort were excited to get started.
Amongst the flurry of red blazers, many new Year 7 students told us that they were looking forward to meeting all of their peers and teachers, and were eager to feel like they had a 'good grasp' of SMT life. After spending the day getting to each other and the layout of our campus, we are confident that they are well on their way.
Our new Year 10 students were also eager to get started, with many of these students saying how excited they were to dive into some new subjects. Psychology seemed to be the favourite amongst this new cohort, with many exclaiming how it was unavailable to them at their old school and that they were ready for a new challenge.
At their commencement assemblies, both cohorts were encouraged by Ms Kayrooz to take risks, embody the IB Learner Profile and to ask questions.
Welcome to QASMT new students. We can't wait to get to know you.
