Japan Super Science Festival

For the past three weeks, Year 11 students Alex, Emily and Poom have been participating in the 2020 Japan Super Science Fair. This year, 63 schools from 25 countries participated in an online environment. Alex, Emily and Poom presented their research at the fair. 

The research topics were: 

Alex - PillPal: Using technology to help reduce hospital related prescription drug incidents 

Emily - Chromatography: Polarity of the mobile phase effect on retention factor

Poom - The Compared Efficiency and Sustainability of Biofuel derived from various Grocery Products Chromatography

The students also participated in a group activity called Science Showdown. This involved international groups of students working together online to solve five problems involving mathematics, ciphers, animal design clouds and origami.
