Congratulations to Jason, for being selected to participate in the 2020 Asian
Pacific Mathematical Olympiad (APMO).This year's APMO will be held on Tuesday
10 March 2020 where Jason will complete a 4 hour exam. This is a highly selective
competition with only 25 students from across Australia invited to enter.
Jason is also attending
the AMOC Selection School at
Peter Canisius House in Sydney in April 2020 as a Senior. The principal purpose
of the Selection School is to develop mathematical problem-solving skills and
help identify the students who may become members of the Australian team for
this year’s International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO). To get to this stage
Jason had to perform well in the Australian Mathematics Competition and be
selected to participate in the 4 hour Senior Contest. From this he then had to
be selected again to go into the Australian Mathematics Olympiad ( completing 2
x 4 hour tests) and then from that he had made it to the summer school. This
shows what a prestigious opportunity Jason has been given.
