Constitutional Convention

A group of senior students attended the Constitutional Convention at Queensland Parliament House. The Constitutional Convention is an event open to students across Queensland, more specifically those interested in politics or law. The Constitutional Convention was run similarly to a debate, speakers presented arguments both for and against the idea and then the students were given various opportunities to participate in the argument. The topic of debate was that, ‘The State Government should be abolished in order to create a two-tiered government system.’ The day ended with the students given the opportunity to participate in a mock referendum.

Congratulations to Kristina Stevens who was selected by her peers to represent Queensland at the National Constitutional Convention in Canberra next month.
