Academy students study an academically challenging and internationally benchmarked curriculum which requires them to adopt new approaches to learning. With this in mind, Queensland Academy for Science Mathematics and Technology (QASMT) has implemented the INSTEP Mentor Programme to ensure that all students achieve their potential through keeping them aligned with the range of strategies and behaviours critical to success. Our INSTEP Programme involves each student being assigned a success development mentor known as the INSTEP Mentor. The INSTEP Mentor will generally remain with the student throughout his or her Academy Journey and in turn becomes a key figure in each student's academic life.
QASMT students are allocated into six houses: Agnesi, Curie, Da Vinci, Franklin, Hawking and Newton. In keeping with our focus on Science Mathematics and Technology, each House is named after a famous scientist or mathematician and led by a House Dean. The House Dean, together with the INSTEP Mentor, focus on the well being of their students within the house.
