Debating continues this term with competitions starting again from Week 2 for both QDU and BGDA teams. QDU has also organised a case preparation workshop on Sunday 29th April from 10am – 1pm at St Josephs Gregory Terrace, which several students will be attending.
This is the term to get involved in the English Department extension activities through exciting trips to the theatre. Week 1 involved a trip to QPAC to see American Idiot, a critical look at social and political issues in America through the music of Green Day. It deserved the standing ovation and we all left the theatre in high spirits. In Week 2 there will be two trips to the Brisbane Arts Theatre to see The Crucible, one of our Paper 2 texts. The Friday night session includes a Q & A session with the cast and director to help the students further understand the directorial choices. It is not too late to sign up for the third trip this term – Twelfth Night at QPAC on Thursday 10 May at 7.30pm. Tickets are $30. Please email Ms Wilson at email@example.com to confirm a spot.
