On Thursday 22nd of February, DP2 Visual Arts students participated in the Big Day In workshop held at The Queensland Academies, Creative Industries Campus, Kelvin Grove. Big Day In is an annual intensive day of practice where students of Visual Arts engage in a day of workshops led by practising artists. These artists were Dave Machen, Sam Eyles, Casselle Mountford, Glen Skien and Catherine Parker. Depending on their artist of choice, students learnt a variety of techniques and approaches, from large scale plaster sculpture, printmaking, experimental drawing and cane sculpture. Students thoroughly enjoyed this experience and will have their works on view at this year’s Arts Showcase and at their final exhibition in Term 3. I would like to thank our exceptional DP2 Visual Arts students for their excellent work ethic, courtesy and creative curiosity during this event. It was a truly enjoyable experience for all.
