The National Youth Science Forum (NYSF) is a not-for-profit organisation that runs a number of residential programs to encourage young people in their passion for science. The NYSF program is a 12 day residential program for students in Year 12 in 2018. Rotary is the Founding Partner of the NYSF, and continues to support the Year 12 Program through promoting the opportunity in local communities, managing applications and the selection of students, and assisting with funding or fund-raising for student fees to attend the Year 12 Program. The application process for NYSF is highly competitive; it begins in March each year, and involves a written application, endorsement from a local Rotary club and interview with a district selection panel. Three QASMT Year 11 students have been selected to attend the NYSF program at the Australian National University, Canberra, in January 2018. Congratulations to Zhengkai Fang, Shambhavi Mishra and Oliver Rutland on their successful applications to attend this prestigious science education event.
