It is exciting to see our new Queensland Virtual STEM Academy (QVSA) in action. Students have been investigating acid mine drainage as part of the Grand Challenge of providing clean water for all. Wednesday afternoon’s experiment investigated the effect of sulphuric acid, a common pollutant from mining, on the environment. Ms Chandra and Mr Beaumont enjoyed making observations with the class. The students are now preparing to investigate acids and bases in the home with special test kits sent to each student.
