UNESCO International Day of Light

On Tuesday 15 May, QUT hosted approximately 50 QASMT and QACI students at The Cube to celebrate the UNESCO International Day of Light. Students heard from Dr Christine Williams, the Acting Queensland Chief Scientist, and Professor Christopher Barner-Kowollik, Head of the QUT Soft Matter Materials Laboratory. The Cube screens were used to showcase interactive light displays, while students engaged with scientists at experimental stations to learn about lasers, 3D printing and creating light with Chemistry. The evening concluded with an interactive light show, projected onto the walls of Old Government House. An amazing event, learning about the history of light and light-driven technologies.
