Last term all students undertook the International Competitions and Assessments for Schools (ICAS) Mathematics Competition. The ICAS exam assesses students’ skills and knowledge across five strands. The strands are Algebra and Patterns, Chance and Data, Measures and Units, Number and Arithmetic, and Space and Geometry. Many of the strands have strong links between each other.
This year, many of our students achieved excellent results, with a number of students receiving Distinction and High Distinction certificates. One student who has achieved an outstanding result is Jae Hee Lee; who received the top score in the state for year 10 students, in Mathematics. In recognition of this, Jae Hee will be the recipient of a UNSW medal. This is an incredible achievement for Jae Hee who will be invited to attend a medal ceremony later this year. Congratulations Jae Hee on this fantastic result!
