With the arrival of the first German missionaries in the 1840s, German quickly became a widely spoken language in Southern Eastern Queensland. Today, German remains one of the most popular languages taught in the school curriculum with over 100 Queensland schools teaching German.
Each year the German Consulate puts on a series of events as Brisbane German Week, which provides unique opportunities to explore and enjoy a variety of bridges between Queensland and Germany.
Our Year 10 students enjoyed Oktoberfest for Teens and all students took part in the Annual German Language Competition, which took the form of a trivia quiz from 10 October and ran until 16 October 2022.
It is thrilling to announce that Neo L our Year 8 student, was one of the top scorers in the 2022 Language Competition Quiz.
