Community is the heart of Queensland Academy for Science Mathematics and Technology (QASMT). As a community we come together to learn, share and respect one another collaboratively. Our community encompasses our students, staff, families, environment, partnerships and associations.
Outreach Programs
Queensland Academy for Science Mathematics and Technology offers two alliance activity programs for students in primary school to engage with our community of learners.
Please direct any enquiries about these programs to Queensland Academies Office via telephone (07) 3377 9366 or email connections@qasmt.eq.edu.au.
STEM Scholars Program
Our STEM Scholars Program is for high-achieving and gifted students across Years 3-6, based on a school recommendation against specified selection criteria. We are pleased to partner with the Queensland Virtual STEM Academy in offering this program. Primary schools within the connected school network are able to nominate students to join the STEM Scholars program.
Individual students are able to join the program and access after-school workshops.
- A registration fee will be charged per student to join the STEM Scholars program.
- Students are invited to attend an annual STEM Scholars Induction afternoon. A school representative and family members are also invited to attend the event where students will be officially acknowledged.
- Students are presented with a QASMT STEM Scholars badge and a Certificate of Membership.
- Students enrol for workshops directly through the Queensland Academies office. Face-to-face workshops are scheduled after school hours. Workshops have a STEM focus and operate on a user-pays basis.
QASMT Young Einstein Club
Our QASMT Young Einstein Club is an initiative to support the needs of highly gifted and exceptional students. It seeks to further support the unique needs of this identified group of students, enabling them to reach their intellectual and creative potential. The program is open to students in Years 3-6 who have been formally assessed with an IQ of 140 or above. A registration fee will be charged per student to join the Young Einstein Club.
