I hope the school holidays offered time to rest and reset, and that Easter was spent in good company, with moments of calm and connection. It has been wonderful to see students return, reconnect with one another, and settle quickly back into the rhythm of school life.
As the term begins, there are already several important moments ahead. We look forward to National Sorry Day on Tuesday 26 May, an important opportunity for reflection and understanding. Our Athletics Carnival on Thursday 28 May will bring energy, participation, and house spirit to the forefront. Later in the term, the Sustainability Fashion Parade on Thursday 25 June will once again highlight creativity, innovation, and thoughtful design. Alongside these events, there will be many other important moments that continue to shape the experience of learning and community at QASMT.
Mother's Day is also approaching, offering a chance to acknowledge care, support, and guidance. These relationships, often steady and constant, play a significant role in the growth and wellbeing of young people.
A Mother's Day stall will be open both breaks on Thursday and Friday for students to make a purchase.
A new student socials platform
This term, we are introducing a new way to stay connected. Students can now access a reimagined SharePoint platform through their devices. It is more visual and intuitive, bringing together the many aspects of school life in one place. From sport and performances to everyday classroom moments, it has been designed as a safe, school managed space where students can engage more deeply with school life and stay informed.
ANZAC Day commemoration
QASMT came together as a community to honour and remember those who have served and sacrificed. The commemoration was marked by respect, reflection, and a strong sense of gratitude. We were privileged to welcome special guests who joined us for the commemoration, adding depth and significance to the occasion. Our students conducted themselves with maturity and thoughtfulness, demonstrating genuine understanding of the importance of the day.

Thank you
I would like to extend my sincere thanks to all attendees and invited guests for being part of this important moment, and to those who worked behind the scenes to organise the commemoration with such care and attention.

Zonta Leadership Award
We also take a moment to recognise Seoirsin, who recently received the Young Women in Leadership Award through Zonta Brisbane East. This acknowledgement reflects her commitment and growing leadership, and we congratulate her on this achievement.
Our thanks to Zonta Brisbane East, and to our staff, especially Kerstin Liebchen, for championing opportunities like this.
As we begin Term 2, learning continues, ideas develop, and connections deepen.
“What day is it?" asked Pooh. “It's today", squeaked Piglet.
“My favourite day," said Pooh". – A.A Milne
A simple reminder to be present in the opportunities each day brings. It is often in the everyday moments that the most meaningful growth occurs.
