As I reflect on the past week, I am happy to share with you the inspiring moments, achievements, and celebrations that make our school such a success.

The Independent Public Schools Leadership Day was held at the Brisbane Exhibition and Convention Centre. This event brought together school leaders from various schools across Queensland, providing them with opportunities to engage in workshops, leadership activities, and networking sessions. Key note speakers were inspiring and it was a wonderful opportunity to reflect on what matters most in leadership.

I am delighted to share the exciting news from our recent Athletics Carnival held at the University of Queensland. The carnival was not only a celebration of athletic talent but also a showcase of house spirit and camaraderie. I am thrilled to announce that Da Vinci House emerged as the overall winners of the house competition. Congratulations to all the members of Da Vinci House for their outstanding achievements and unwavering spirit!

The Athletics Carnival provided a platform for our students to showcase their athletic abilities, teamwork, and sportsmanship. The carnival was filled with thrilling moments as students competed in a range of track and field events, cheering each other on and creating an electric atmosphere.

Da Vinci House, with their exceptional performances across multiple events, demonstrated incredible skill and determination. Their consistent effort and teamwork paid off, propelling them to victory. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to every member of Da Vinci House for their exceptional achievements and for exemplifying the true essence of house spirit.

I would also like to acknowledge the efforts of all the other houses for their remarkable performances and the incredible display of sportsmanship. The carnival was a testament to the unity and enthusiasm within our school community.

I want to express my gratitude to the teachers and staff members who worked tirelessly to organise and facilitate the Athletics Carnival. Your dedication and commitment to providing our students with such a memorable experience are truly appreciated.

Let us continue to carry the spirit of friendly competition and house pride into future events and activities. I encourage all students to engage in the various co-curricular opportunities offered at QASMT and to support their houses with the same enthusiasm and energy displayed at the Athletics Carnival.

Once again, congratulations to Da Vinci House for their victory, and well done to all the students who participated. Your efforts and achievements have made the Athletics Carnival a resounding success.

I am thrilled to announce that our Associate Principal, Tanya Haggarty, was awarded the prestigious QSPA Leadership Award at the Queensland Secondary Principals Association Conference held at the Hilton Brisbane. This recognition is a testament to Ms. Haggarty's exceptional leadership skills, dedication, and commitment to fostering a culture of excellence at QASMT. We are fortunate to have her as an integral member of our school leadership team.

I would also like to promote the upcoming ‘Festival of Creativity’ one of our annual showcase events. I am looking forward to seeing many QASMT families at our event. Just a quick reminder that the event is not public and is only open to current QASMT families. The parent engagement has be incredible and it is a privilege to work together, in making QASMT a hub of innovation and educational excellence.
