ANZAC Day
As we reflect on ANZAC Day, a solemn occasion of remembrance and gratitude, I am deeply moved to recall the touching ceremonies that unfolded at our school in honour of this significant day. ANZAC Day held a special place in our national consciousness, serving as a poignant reminder of the courage, sacrifice, and resilience of the men and women who have served and continue to serve our nation.
The day before ANZAC Day, our school community came together to pay homage to the ANZAC's and deepen our understanding of the historical significance of this day. With reverence and respect, students from both Middle and Senior School gathered to reflect on the sacrifices made by generations past.
Throughout the assemblies, students listened to stories of courage and sacrifice, learned about the ANZAC's pivotal role in shaping our nation's identity, and paid tribute through musical performances. Our choir performed beautifully, their voices lifting in harmony to honour the memory of the fallen.
At the heart of our assemblies was House Dean Mr Ross Bray, an army veteran who shared his firsthand experiences and insights with our students. His words resonated deeply, offering an important reminder of the sacrifices made by those who served and the importance of preserving their legacy.
With heads bowed and hearts filled with reverence, our students observed a minute of silence, honouring the memory of the fallen, and reaffirming their commitment to upholding the values of courage, mateship, and sacrifice.
As we paused to commemorate ANZAC Day, we not only honoured the bravery and sacrifice of our servicemen and women but also reflected on the enduring legacy they had left behind. Through their courage and resilience, they had forged a nation built on the principles of freedom, democracy, and equality.
As members of our school community, we endeavoured to embody the spirit of the ANZAC's by demonstrating kindness, compassion, and a commitment to serving others. May we never forget the sacrifices made on our behalf, and may we always strive to honour their memory through acts of remembrance, gratitude, and service. Lest we forget.
