Service is a significant component of the IB experience and values. In order to provide students a valuable and meaningful opportunity to provide service, QASMT offers a CAS Service and Environmental Tour. Like the international STEM tours, our Service Tour provides students with an opportunity to complete a CAS project by working closely pre-tour, on-tour and post-tour to provide service. This service is completed through projects on-tour through preparing provisions for in-need communities.
Learning Experiences and Outcomes
Through environmental projects, which are part of this tour, students develop their awareness of current environmental issues, what research is being done to combat these issues, and how they can make a difference.
By working hands-on by serving others, students witness the struggles that many people face in their day-to-day life, the importance of the organisations that work to reduce and/or end these struggles, and the impact they can make as individuals.
