Science Teachers Association of Queensland (STAQ) Science Competition

Each year we enter student projects in Science and Mathematics into to the Science Teachers Association of Queensland (STAQ) Science Competition. In 2022 QASMT students had projects entered in the following categories: Science Investigations, Mathematics Investigations, Communicating Science and Poster Presentation.  We had 50 entries from individuals and groups and 31 students have received a prize – congratulations!

 

Congratulations go to:

Dami L, Isaac C and Richard L (Year 8) – First place for their mathematics investigation 'Six degrees of QASMT'

Ishaan P (Year 12) First place for his mathematics investigation 'Length of the Centenary Highway'

James B (Year 8) – First place for his science investigation 'Plastic Pollution on South Gorge Beach'

Lana W, Sharon K, Uhansa D (Year 11) – First place for their poster presentation 'Mapping Ion Migration'

Saanvi P, Mary D and Nerissa D (Year 10) – Second place for their science investigation 'Hydrogen Production'

Jamie L and Andy C (Year 10) – Second place for their poster presentation ' Biomimicry in Aquatic Propulsion'

Rohan S, Andre G and Esha'al C (Year 10) – Second place for their communicating science 'Asteriod Mining'

Kelvin C  (Year 10) – Prize winner in both science and mathematics investigations and winner or Australian Acoustical Society Bursary
