Cross Country
After being postponed last term due to ex-Cyclone Alfred, our Cross Country Carnival finally went ahead, and it was well worth the wait!
This year's event was held on our school grounds, with the oval serving as the vibrant hub for a day filled with colour, energy, and school spirit. We kicked off the festivities with the much anticipated House War Cries, and each House brought an impressive display of passion and pride to the competition.
Congratulations to both Da Vinci and Hawking Houses, whose unity and volume saw them jointly awarded the coveted title of War Cry winners, a testament to their incredible spirit and teamwork.

Adding to the excitement was the incredible array of student costumes on display. Students embraced the fun of the day by dressing in everything from tutus and animal onesies to superhero capes and glittery accessories. The creativity was unmatched and helped turn the school into a sea of rainbow colours. This extra layer of flair brought joy to both runners and spectators alike and reflected the vibrant spirit of our QASMT community.

Throughout the day, each year level took on the Cross Country track, which wound its way through various parts of the campus. With teachers stationed at checkpoints to guide and cheer on the runners, the course came alive with energy and encouragement. The sense of support between staff and students was truly inspiring, turning every step into a shared effort. Whether competing for a top time or simply running for fun, all students embraced the chance to move, connect, and challenge themselves.

While some year levels were out on the course, the main hub buzzed with
energy as students jumped into friendly House rivalry through fast paced
Dodgeball matches on the courts. These spirited games offered another
opportunity to showcase House pride while staying active and engaged. Loud,
lively, and full of teamwork, the matches were a fantastic example of how we
balance healthy competition with camaraderie at QASMT.

Meanwhile, the oval stayed buzzing with energy thanks to
our talented Production students, who ran a DJ booth and curated a lively
soundtrack that had students dancing and singing between events. Adding to the festival like atmosphere, the
Leo’s Community Club hosted a fantastic BBQ, serving up sausages, burgers, and
cold drinks throughout the day. Together, the music and food hubs kept spirits
high and everyone well-fuelled for the action.

A huge congratulations goes to Agnesi House, who claimed the overall win for the second year in a row! What an incredible achievement. I'd like to thank all the staff, student leaders, and volunteers who helped plan and deliver another successful Cross Country Carnival. From checkpoint monitors to event coordinators, costume judges to BBQ chefs - your efforts brought our school community together in the best way. It was a day filled with fun, fitness, and connection, and a wonderful reminder of the unique spirit we foster here at QASMT.

School Review Consultation
This week we also welcomed a vital opportunity for reflection and growth through our School Review Consultation. Representatives from across our community - including students, staff, parents, and School Council members - came together to discuss the direction and progress of our school. These sessions provided a meaningful platform to gather feedback, celebrate our strengths, and identify new opportunities for future growth.

As always, I'm proud of the insightful contributions from our student leaders and the considered perspectives offered by all participants. Community voice is a cornerstone of our continued success as a leading IB World School, and I look forward to building on the rich dialogue that took place during this review.
