Random Acts of Science Week
This week, our campus was alive with scientific curiosity as the Science Ambassadors hosted Random Acts of Science Week! Each lunchtime, students gathered in the courtyard to witness and participate in exciting science demonstrations. From vortex cannons sending rings of air shooting through the space, to the ever-popular oobleck slime showcasing its strange non-Newtonian properties, there was something for everyone to enjoy.

Students were also mesmerised by the iodine magic experiment and the lollywave machine, which visually demonstrated wave mechanics in a delicious way! With Thursday marking Pi Day, there were even more activities to celebrate the famous mathematical constant. The enthusiasm from our students made this a fantastic week, proving once again that science is as fun as it is fascinating.

Year 12 IB Registration
For our Year 12 students, this week marked an important milestone in their IB journey as they completed their official IB registration. Deputy Principal Dr Hatchell led the session, guiding students through the essential steps needed to finalise their enrolment for their upcoming IB assessments.

This process is a critical moment in their senior studies, ensuring that they are on track for their exams and diploma requirements. With the registration now complete, our Year 12s are one step closer to their final assessments, and we commend them for their dedication and hard work.
Wellbeing Activities Afternoon
Tuesday afternoon saw students unwind and de-stress with a series of Wellbeing Activities, hosted by our incredible Inclusion and Wellbeing staff and student leaders. The courtyard was filled with music as students gathered for an energetic karaoke session, singing their favourite tunes in front of an enthusiastic crowd.
Elsewhere, students took part in creative and calming activities such as stress ball making and rock painting, each providing a great way to express creativity and take a well-deserved break from their studies. These activities remind us of the importance of looking after our mental and emotional wellbeing, and we are grateful to our Wellbeing Team for organising such an enjoyable afternoon.

Newton Charity Crochet Club
As the term draws to a close, our Newton Charity Crochet Club has wrapped up their incredible project, creating beanies for babies in need. Throughout the term, students dedicated their lunchtimes to learning and perfecting the art of crochet, working together to make soft, warm beanies for the Mater Little Miracles Foundation.

This initiative has not only helped develop new skills but also fostered a sense of community and giving back. Now, as the finished beanies are ready to be sent off, we thank every student who took part in this meaningful project. Your kindness and generosity will bring warmth and comfort to many families in need.
