Gala Day

Tuesday's Gala Day was a fantastic celebration of sport, teamwork, and school spirit. Students represented QASMT with energy and determination across a range of team sports, including Badminton, Ultimate Disc, AFL, and Pickleball.Gala Day 1.jpg

It was a particularly successful day for our teams, with our school taking out both the AFL Cup and the Badminton Tournament. These achievements are a testament to the hard work and dedication of our students, who played with great skill and sportsmanship throughout the day.

Congratulations to all who participated – you should be very proud of your efforts and the way you represented our school community.

Japan STEM Tour Departure

On Sunday evening, our Year 11 students set off on the much-anticipated Japan STEM Tour. Much like the Europe STEM Tour, this program offers students the chance to explore Japan while immersing themselves in both cultural and scientific experiences that are sure to expand their perspectives. A number of dedicated staff are accompanying the group as chaperones on this exciting journey.Japan STEM Tour 1.jpg

Since their departure, students have immersed themselves in technology, tradition, and discovery through a range of CAS activities and explorations, including the Tokyo Miraikan Science Museum, Tokyo Sky Tree, Disneyland, Sensoji Temple, and the Imperial Palace – just to name a few!Japan STEM Tour 4.jpgJapan STEM Tour 2.jpg

Year 12 final lessons and Movie World Excursion.

Today the Year 12 students completed the final stage of the Year 12 Conference and embarked on the highly anticipated excursion to Movie World.

The timing of this visit was particularly meaningful, as it marked the conclusion of formal Year 12 lessons for the year. With classes now completed, students are turning their full attention to revision and final exam preparation.

This excursion has offered a valuable opportunity for students to step away from their usual classroom environment, into the vibrant atmosphere of Movie World. The combination of fun and motivation made the experience both memorable and productive, helping our Year 12s feel well-supported as they enter their final stage of the IB journey.

As I conclude my time as Acting Principal, I want to thank the QASMT community for your warmth, generosity, and unwavering commitment to excellence. It has been an honour to serve you, and I leave inspired by the passion and dedication that make this Academy such an extraordinary place.

I wish everyone a safe, restful, and well-deserved school holiday.

Angelique Salisbury
Acting Principal
