Tertiary Expo
This week, we hosted our Tertiary Expo and it was a resounding success. The expo provides our students with invaluable insights into their future educational opportunities, and features exhibitors from a variety of universities and tertiary institutions, including UQ, QUT, Monash University, ADFA with Defence Force Recruiting, and numerous more.
Students had the chance to engage directly with representatives, gaining a deeper understanding of entry options and the unique programs each university offers. Alongside the stalls, representatives conducted presentations allowing students and their families to delve further into what each institution has to offer. It was a day filled with inspiration and guidance, helping our students chart their paths forward.
Year 12 Pizza Party
In celebration of the Year 12s completing their Extended Essay submissions, students were treated to a delightful pizza party. The atmosphere in the Refectory was filled with excitement and relief as they shared stories of their essay journeys, and reflected on their hard work and dedication. This event was a perfect way to acknowledge their efforts and provide a well-deserved break from their academic endeavors. It was wonderful to see the camaraderie and joy among the students as they celebrated this significant milestone.
UQ EE Celebrations
We had the pleasure of hosting the UQ Extended Essay Celebration, where mentors from The University of Queensland joined us to celebrate the completion of their mentees' essays. This event was a testament to the strong partnership between QASMT and UQ, highlighting the collaborative efforts that go into producing high-quality academic work through the Research Mentoring Program.
Students and their mentors gathered to reflect on the journey, discuss their findings, and celebrate their accomplishments. The mentors' guidance and support have been instrumental in helping our students achieve their academic goals, and this celebration was a fitting recognition of their hard work and dedication.
Year 12 Formal
The Year 12 Formal, held at the elegant Rydges Hotel in Southbank, was an unforgettable evening for our graduating students. Parents and family members joined their Year 12 students at the pre-function event, capturing beautiful family photos and sharing in the excitement of the evening.
As the night progressed, students and school staff proceeded into the Ballroom, where they enjoyed a sumptuous dinner, lively dancing, and group photos that will be cherished for years to come. The atmosphere was filled with joy and celebration, marking one of the last special events of the students' journey at QASMT. It was a night of elegance, laughter, and heartfelt moments, providing a perfect night for our remarkable Year 12 cohort.
