Commencement Assembly
Our return to school for Term 2 was marked by a vibrant Commencement Assembly, where students and staff gathered to celebrate the achievements of the past, and set our sights on the exciting opportunities that lie ahead. The Academy Captains and Portfolio Captains took centre stage to offer insights into the upcoming events and initiatives planned for the term, while our strings ensemble astonished the assembly with a beautiful performance.
With passion and enthusiasm, our student leaders detailed a diverse array of activities spanning academic, sporting, cultural, and community engagement realms. From STRM Week and the Festival of Creativity, to Athletics Carnival and charity events, the term ahead promises to be a whirlwind of learning, growth, and enrichment for our school community.
As we embark on this new term together, let's reaffirm our commitment to kindness. In a world where you can be anything, be kind. Let's make a conscious effort to spread kindness in our school community and beyond. Small acts of kindness can make a big difference. Let's make Term 2 a time of compassion, understanding, and empathy. Together, let's create a culture of kindness that will make our school a better place for everyone. Together, we shall continue on our course for success, and make the most of the experiences that await us in the weeks ahead.
Miskin Cup
In the spirit of friendly competition and neighbourly camaraderie, our school recently kicked off the inaugural Miskin Cup against Brisbane Boys' College. The Miskin Cup, named in honour of the street that divides our schools, seeks to celebrate the spirit of sportsmanship and collaboration between our two esteemed institutions.
The first event in this exciting series saw two teams of senior boys take to the field for a thrilling soccer match. Amidst cheers from spectators and the palpable energy of rivalry, our students showcased their skills, determination, and teamwork on the pitch to take home a challenging 5 - 3 victory over BBC.
As we look ahead to future Miskin Cup events, let us approach each competition with a spirit of sportsmanship, respect, and unity. Through friendly rivalry and shared experiences, we strengthen the bonds that unite us as neighbours, friends, and fellow learners.
