Exam Block
This week, our Years 9 - 12 students were deep into their exam block, a critical period that marked the culmination of their hard work and dedication over the term. Congratulations to all of our students! Your efforts and determination have been truly commendable.
Pride Month Celebration
This month, our school is proudly celebrating Pride Month, a time dedicated to acknowledging and supporting the LGBTQIA+ community. To showcase our pride and solidarity, staff members wore rainbow colours and participated in various activities on the Friday during our Pride Celebration in the courtyard.
These activities promote inclusivity, understanding, and respect for all individuals, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity. Our Pride Month celebration is a testament to our commitment to creating a safe and supportive environment for everyone. It has been heart-warming to see the enthusiasm and participation from our entire school community, reinforcing our values of diversity and acceptance.
Intermediate Schools Cup Volleyball
Last weekend, 38 of our Year 9 and 10 volleyball students competed in the Intermediate Schools Cup (ISC) Volleyball competition on the Gold Coast. This tough three-day event saw our students facing off against the best schools in Queensland, showcasing their skill and determination. Both our boys' teams competed in the Honours division, the highest category, and performed admirably, finishing mid-table. The Year 9 girls played in division 1, taking on some of the toughest volleyball schools of excellence.
A special congratulations goes to our Year 10 girls, who won the gold medal in the division 2 Maroon category. These girls demonstrated outstanding teamwork, sportsmanship, and energy throughout the competition, losing only one game against Park Ridge SHS, whom they then defeated in the grand final playoff. A special mention to Ava, who was awarded the MVP for the tournament in her division. Well done to all our volleyball teams for their incredible effort and achievements.
