Year 7 Transition Day

At the onset of the week, we celebrated our much-anticipated Year 7 in 2024 Transition Day. This significant event served as an introduction for the incoming cohort to acquaint themselves with the campus, their House Deans, and the vibrant community of their fellow students.

The highlight of the day was the House Placement Ceremony, an exciting moment where students discovered their designated houses and had the pleasure of meeting their dedicated house deans. This personalised touch fosters a sense of belonging and connection right from the start. Additionally, the day was enriched with engaging team-building activities. These activities not only encouraged camaraderie but also laid the foundation for a positive and collaborative atmosphere within the incoming class.

As we reflect on this Transition Day, I am filled with anticipation and enthusiasm about the prospect of welcoming these bright and promising students next year. Here's to a fantastic year ahead, and to the exciting chapter that awaits our Year 7 students in 2024!

Year 8 Dances
As an integral component of their Physical and Health Education (PHE) assessment, Year 8 students delved into the art of dance. The immersive learning experience equipped them with the skills and knowledge needed to appreciate and execute diverse dance forms, across various genres. The students worked together in small groups to craft their distinctive dance routines and showed off their moves to the cohort and myself. I absolutely adored it.

Principal Panel

On Tuesday I participated in a Principal Panel Interview Day, where I had the honor of representing the Queensland Secondary Principals Association. The objective was to select a new Principal for a metropolitan school, a process that commenced with the intricate task of shortlisting interviewees from an extensive roster of highly qualified principals. Following this meticulous stage, we conducted interviews to determine the most fitting candidate, ultimately appointing the successful interviewee to the esteemed position.

Final Staff Meeting and Farewells
This week we hosted our final staff meeting for the year where we expressed gratitude in the form of 'shout outs' to our fellow colleagues. I want to express my deepest appreciation to our extraordinary staff, whose unwavering dedication tirelessly contributes to the growth and success of our school. As we bid farewell to those embarking on new opportunities, your departure is keenly felt. Each one of you has indelibly left your mark at QASMT, and your influence extends far beyond the confines of the classroom. I extend my heartfelt wishes for success on your next journey. Farewell, and may the next chapter of your professional journey be as rewarding as the contributions you've made to QASMT.
