Kindness at the Heart of Our Community
As we move toward the end of Term 4, the pace of school life has certainly not slowed. From Valedictory celebrations at the BCEC to our Final Year Assembly, World Kindness Day initiatives, language incursions, STEM seminars, musical performances, and even the spirited Students vs Teachers Debate - the term has been filled with moments that reflect the energy, generosity, and talent of our QASMT community.
World Kindness Day
World Kindness Day offered students and staff a meaningful opportunity to reflect on the impact small actions can make. Whether through thoughtful words, inclusive gestures, or collaborative projects, our community demonstrated that kindness remains a defining part of who we are. These moments - often unseen - help build the culture we are proud of.

Final Assembly & Year 12 Walkout
This week marked one of the most meaningful traditions in our school calendar: farewelling our Year 12 cohort.

On Monday morning, the entire school gathered for the Final Assembly, a moment of reflection, gratitude, and admiration. Our Year 12 students entered the auditorium to a standing ovation - a powerful expression of respect for their leadership, perseverance, and the legacy they leave behind. Watching students and staff rise to honour them was a reminder of the strong sense of belonging that defines QASMT.
A highlight of the assembly was the much-anticipated staff and student music videos. Each year, both groups put their creative twist on a popular song, offering a light-hearted tribute to the IB journey. The laughter, nostalgia, and pride in the room made this year's videos particularly memorable.
We also celebrated the success of our houses, with Newton House once again taking out the House Cup for 2025. Their teamwork and spirit have shone consistently throughout the year - congratulations to all Newton students and staff on a fantastic achievement!

Valedictory at BCEC
Monday evening brought the formal farewell for the Class of 2025 at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre. Before the ceremony began, students enjoyed time with families and friends, taking photos, sharing stories, and soaking in the excitement of the moment.

A tribute to the friendships, challenges, and triumphs that shaped their years at QASMT.
As each of the eight houses was invited to the stage, students stepped forward to receive their certificates with pride and dignity. This cohort holds a unique place in our school's history as the first to begin at QASMT in Year 7. Their journey - from eager, curious learners to confident graduates - has been a joy for our community to witness.
Our QASMT Christmas Morning Concert
A heartfelt thank you to every student and staff member involved in this year's Christmas Morning Concert. The performances were full of joy and warmth, capturing the festive spirit in a way only our talented young musicians can. Thank you to everyone who joined us - your support brings these celebrations to life.
Looking Ahead
As we approach the final weeks of the year, I want to acknowledge the resilience, enthusiasm, and commitment of our entire community.
Thank you to all students, staff, and families for the spirit you bring to QASMT every day!
Warm regards,
